Watch Kings Of Leon Get Radioactive
By Johnny Firecloud
Wednesday, September 8, 2010
Got a new track/video from Kings of Leon for you this morning, entitled Radioactive. It’s taken from their soon to be released album Come Around Sundown which hits stores on the 18th of October.
Caleb Followill and company undoubtedly have another radio hit on their hands, utilizing female backup singers and shooting for singalong placement with “Its in the water, Its in the story of where you came from / Your sons and daughters in all their glory it’s gonna save her / And when they dance and come together and start rising / Just drink the water where you came from / Where you came from.”
For those of you still twisting that shitty FM dial, the song hits radio on Sept. 13. Unless some wild & wacky morning DJ decides to buck the system and play it during the week prior, when everyone else in the world is listening. That sort of wild, rebellious insubordination could get you fired, however.

Meh. I’ll stick with Charmer.
I hate to admit that I like the song although I do prefer their earlier songs but a little brighter songs about starting over and going back where you came from never hurt anyone even if it is coming from KOL.
Why hate yourself for it? It’s a good jam.
P.S. Punctuation is your friend. Embrace it.
I wonder what happened to their album full of barnburners and abandoning the success? Oh well. Certainly a step up from need you, or want you or whatever its called. Bass line is uncharacteristically boring though, catchy bass lines were something they were always good for even in their shittiest moments.
They need to go back and do cocaine and ecstasy and make awesome party music again, not bland arena rock.
I guess that southern 70’s look was just a facade…but i still like the song lol
is this the new u2 video??
These guys did a secret show the other night in Nashville. Played for about 150 people. Was a killer show. I know these guys are filling up the arenas now but they really translate better on a smaller stage. They seemed genuinely excited to be doing something on a smaller scale again. Especially in their hometown. It really was one of those concert experiences that I won’t forget. They filmed the whole thing for a show in the UK. Played several new songs. “Radioactive” sounded great live. Much less of a gospel feel on the live version. I like both styles. I new track called “Back Down South” is a definite hit. Looking forward to this album.
I like this song, it’s good. And love that gospel flavor too. P.S. Good music is good music, nevermind the image or the publicity surrounding it. That’s not the point, so don’t fall there. Just listen for yourself.
