Daft Punk’s Tron Score Gets A Release Date

By Albert Santos

While the heads at Disney are hoping Tron: Legacy will be the savior of 3D films’ very quick spiral towards novelty, fans of Daft Punk have only one thing on their mind: The film’s score. Now we know, after several fake leaks, that on November 22nd we’ll get the real thing.

The French robotic duo hired out crew of 100 “world-class musicians” for their latest project, their first studio work since 2005′s Human After All and first creative endeavor since their acid-trip-inducing live show Alive 2007.

Deluxe editions and pre-orders are also set to include a “new track,” currently shown on the Tron soundtrack website as a line of binary code. Whether this track is part of the score or something separate altogether, we don’t yet know.

For the record, only some of the previously “leaked” Daft Punk tracks turned out to be real, all of which are now streaming on the official website and none of which were the more Daft Punk-sounding YouTube uploads. That means the ones we reported on early last month were, in fact, bogus.
