News:  U2

U2 Debuts ‘Flowering Rose Of Glastonbury’ (New Song #2)

By Johnny Firecloud

After premiering North Star just moments ago in Turin, U2 unleashed another promising new song called Flowering Rose of Glastonbury. We’d like to share a hazy video of the full song with you, right here.

An introduction from Bono: “Okay here’s a new song about a festival everybody in the world seems to have been to… this is Glastonbury.”

A high energy jam, the song gives us a little bit of hope that the future of U2 might not entirely sound like old men trying to fan dying flames.

Pocket full of sunshine, indeed.

Head here to see more video from the show, including U2′s first performance of Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me in 12 years.

  1. Glastonbury is much better than North Star. Last year’s album was great, probably the best since Achtung Baby, so it’s good to hear more decent material coming out.

Also, Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me deserves to be played on every date of this tour. One of U2′s best songs, and definitely worked well live according to the videos I’ve seen.

I wish they would put something from POP in the setlist, mainly I’d love to hear Last Night on Earth live again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqW9Q3KjF_4

    Frankly, POP is criminally underrated.
