New From Jimmy Eat World: ‘Stop’

Jimmy Eat World’s new album Invented arrives September 28, and today fans can get their hands on the vinyl single for My Best Theory (listen here).
We grabbed the 7″ (much love to Rock Candy Music in Santa Clarita) only to find that the b-side to the record is a new song called Stop, which you can check out below. It’s got that sledgehammer to the heart feel that Jimmy Eat World captures so well, with a production clarity and accessibility that nearly guarantees radio play.
You heard it here first.

I think this song falls into the ‘boring’ bucket. They’ve been hit and miss for a while – ‘Chase This Light’ was breaking point for me, and it sounds like they’re treading the same old ground here.
Also, I don’t think I can take the bad high school lyrics anymore. I mean, JESUS…

This is closer to what I was expecting from the new album, but I still don’t love it. My expectations for the new album are starting to shrink.
