Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd will be releasing a solo album on July 6th, a fact we would be completely unaware of if not for Trever Trent at LA’s 98.7FM.
The first single for The Wild Trapeze is 3.5 minutes of hippie porn called Runaway Train, and here’s the video:

Though it’s an apple not far from the tree of less aggressive Incubus material (our least favorite half), it’s a pretty catchy little jam.

I guess this a good thing, only in that it won’t continue to taint the once-cool Incubus name. Although I suppose that one is already too far gone.
Darn, I was hoping for a cover of the Soul Asylum classic w/ updated photos of lost kids. Perhaps Brandon Flowers can cover that on his solo record for me.
Dude I’ve been waiting for that shit for a while now. The song is a pierced dick through the heart of emo origins, but that video led to a bunch of kids getting found, if I remember it right.
Yeah, I seem to remember the original antiquiet -MTV news running a story on a few of the kids who were found.
Sadly, Soul Asylum never found the charts again.
i still don’t know where Incubus got the balls to write a song called Wish You Were Here. this might be a pattern
You are the only person I know that still listens to LA radio.
i do it so you don’t have to.
much appreciated

Brandon Boyd looks like Sad Keanu in this video.
Actually, for an “Incubus ballad”, this is pretty strong. Much better than Love Hurts, Here in My Room, and songs of that ilk.
Chillin at Joshua Tree…maybe he was chillin with Josh Homme…
Song is average…nothing special to me really.
I wonder what Lynn Strait would have to say to this…..
[...] The album is titled The Wild Trapeze and his first single is “Runaway Train.” Antiquiet even found a video for it, which they described as “3.5 minutes of hippie porn.” Well, I don’t think it is, but you can judge for yourself and watch the video here. [...]
