News:  How To Destroy Angels

Trent Reznor Brings His Wife To Work

By Skwerl

There’s a new band on the scene, entitled How To Destroy Angels. They’re readying a 6-song debut EP for a release this summer, and that’s about all we know. Why do we care at all? Because it’s got Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor’s fingerprints all over it, and is likely his new project with his new wife Mariqueen, formerly of West Indian Girl.

Sure, we’re jumping to a conclusion here, as announcements so far have been sparse and cryptic. But take a look at the band’s website, logo, artwork, and teaser video, and you’ll see all the trademarks.

It’s not much to go on yet. And we’re not denying our misogynistic knee-jerk reaction; It’s hard, as longtime fans, to see this new project as anything other than a hell of a shortcut for Mariqueen, right into the spotlight, bypassing the decades of struggle that shapes genius like Trent Reznor’s. You can bet your ass we wouldn’t be talking about this band at this point in time, if not for the mere rumor of Reznor’s involvement.

On the other hand, the shortcut may be deserved, for all we know. Time will tell.

So I see that Reznor got done some nice manicure.

Those are actually Marilyn Manson’s fingers, as Mr Renzor pointed out on Twitter.

    I would say that’s a pretty accurate knee-jerk reaction.

I’m willing to give it a shot. Hey, for as much joy the man has brought my life via his not so joyful music – I look forward to something different. If it sucks, at least I have new jams from Billy and Cunty Love to enjoy :)

I kinda dug West Indian Girl. Havn’t heard them w/their new singer though. Should be interesting. If not it will just be one more thing to ignore.

    APC you maroon

Reznor had nothing to do with A Perfect Circle aside from writing credits on Passive, which was originally a Tapeworm track. A little research will yield that Reznor was pretty pissed off they released it as a single from APC. Apparently Maynard and Reznor patched things up, because he used another track for Puscifer. Considering Reznor didn’t think the Tapeworm material was good enough to see the light of day, who knows if we’ll ever hear anymore of it. It does lead you to wonder how much of his hand was at the APC version of Passive, which was a pretty bitchin track, if a bit overplayed due to being on a soundtrack.
