In Five Years We’ll Have Hoverboards, But For Now, Rocket Skates

The piping hot and crispy video for Rocket Skates, the Deftones’ new single, has hit the ol’ slapstream. Check it out.
You can download the HD source file for free by Tweeting a link (which auto-follows the band), which is kinda interesting, coming from a major record label. But Warner tends to lead the mangy crippled pack with stuff like that.
Oh, and you can also buy the single on iTunes now. Do it, we get like 5¢ for telling you, I think.
Diamond Eyes hits shelves May 18th. More info here.

Be Quiet and Drive lives again!!
But seriously these guys are going back to making the music they make best! Leave the break beats to massive attack, also great to see Deftones looking so “cool” in a video again.. Really looking the real deal.
Ultra heavy goodness. That was exactly what I needed. Thanks.
I’m so excited I can’t control my arms.
Love this song. Makes me want to stab somebody. Epic stuff.
That’s an amazing guitar riff and will be in my head for days. And the subtle keyboard part works really well. But the song is twice as long as it needs to be and the chorus just reeks of teen angst, which seems pretty tried in 2010.
i miss the 90’s.
Teen angst? Guns, Razors, Kinfes??? Maybe you should listnen again. No wait, go dance naked to the black eyed peas. They have way more direct, easy to understand lyrics for a simpleton like you. Deftones are one of the few bands left that rule the rock universe. They do nothing wrong ever. May they rock for ever. Chino is a lyrical god.
FFS, this tweeter shit doesn’t seem to work for me, I allow them to add me to their spam list, but nothing happens.
DEF-FUCKING-TONES…ENOUGH SAID
here is track by track preview of whole albumhttp://www.metalhammer.co.uk/news/deftones-diaond-eyes-review/
btw, only the chosen ones will have hoverboards in 2015, most of us won’t get to 22/12/12, but for now…guns, razors, knives, the usual…it is written, I have spoken…
fuck, that shit rocked good to see chino looking fucking healthy again~! THREE CHEERS FOR DEFTONES~!~~ ha raaa!
ha raaa!!! haAAA!! RRAAA!!!
Man this song/video reinforces why they are one of my all-time favs! It’s just too bad that it took their bassist going into a coma to light a spark under there ass.
Reaction to this song seems to be pretty heavily divided between those who feel it a remarkable return to their heavier roots and those who feel it a simplistic and cliche abandonment of the eclectic leanings that set them apart from their contemporaries.
As for me, give me SNW any day over this song.
fuck SNW. this song is cool as fuck and heavy as hell which is as was mentioned a great return to form. however it is far to repetitive. but thats their producers fault for most likely suggesting a simple arrangement like that.
I think it’s an excellent return to form, especially for a first single. If they maintain this style on the bulk of the album but also keep the eclectic vibe that’s defined them since White Pony it should be a rock solid album.
Also, does anybody else think that Chino and Abe had a fat transfusion?
i think chino stopped being a manic depressive alcoholic, which is why he doesn’t way 300 pounds anymore. i think his lifestyle caught up to him in his 30’s, hence the stay puffed marshmallow man weight gain in past years.
also, something about this song reminds me of the band, Handsome. anyone remember that band? it had a dude from Helmet and a dude from Quicksand, they only released one album. i liked it as a kid.
that handsome album fucking rules.

There is many irretations of quicksand and helmet all were pretty good.
holy shit Skwerl! i’ve never ever heard of Sweethead! i need to stop being such an old man and start putting a little more effort into finding music i like again. rad.
