News:  Miscellaneous

No Shit

By Skwerl

MTV has officially parted ways with the notion that it has anything to do with music, by dropping the “Music Television” from its logo.

Anecdote time: I once found myself sharing a train platform in Wilmington, Delaware with MTV VJ John Norris. I’m typically not the type to harass random pseudo-celebrities. However, I was feeling particularly snarky that August afternoon. So I walked up to him, and said something to the effect of “Hey. So I was wondering… What does the M stand for?”

He laughed, and said “good question.”

That was ten years ago.

I honestly thought that skwerl had just cropped the logo in some weird way to remove the “Music Television” part and then pasted it on top of a Jersey Shore picture. I thought it was kind of a lazy job. Turns out this is THE ACTUAL LOGO that they’re using. They literally just cut the bottom of their old logo. Beyond lame.
