Black Rebel Motorcycle Club Deliver Free Conscience Killer

As we mentioned a few weeks ago, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club is returning on March 9 with Beat The Devil’s Tattoo, the band’s sixth studio album and their first with new drummer Leah Shaprio. They’re among our favorite bands here at Antiquiet, and we’re excited to share another song off the album with you.
Check out Conscience Killer, and download it for free below:
Our friends over at Rcrdlbl.com did an early review of the album (click the picture), and had the following to say about the recording of Beat The Devil’s Tattoo:
For six months, Hayes, Been and new drummer Leah Shapiro, holed up in a basement studio together, during one of the coldest winters in recent history. In this house outside Philadelphia —the same place Howl was penned — they built their first album as a new band from the ground up. “It was like a family again, living together and working really closely like that,” Been says. “Something happened to us out there though, I’m not sure if we beat back our demons, or if we just let them take us over completely. But strange days make for strange times.”
With Shapiro on board, the band recorded in Los Angeles at the Station House, tracking all basic tracks in a shocking four days.
“We wrote over 23 songs for this record and the hardest thing about it was probably narrowing it down to a final 13 track album,” Been says. “There’s just a strange effortlessness now, which I haven’t felt since we recorded our first album. It’s just got that kind of nervous, kind of excited, kind of unsure feeling, where we don’t know where it’s gonna go next, so everyone just stands out of the way.”
Can’t wait for this one…

For me, they’re one of those bands, that are just hard to get into. I hope this album will do it for me, and then, hopefully, I’ll be able to further explore their previous works.
Pretty stoked for this one.
I am brimming with anticipation. They fill my Charlatans UK shaped hole.
I think it’s cool they wrote it in the same house where Howl was written.
I hear you Spinett. I felt the same way, until hitting a real rough patch in life about 3 years ago. Worst ever would be pretty accurate. In my quest to turn the page, Skwerl & I recorded a batch of their songs, and playing them really helped get me in the headspace to appreciate them on a deeper level. 666 Conducer is still probably among my top five dearest songs, for what it did for me at a particular time.
That’s my song. Sounds like it could have been tracked on BRMC or Take Them On, On Your Own.
That’s a great song man, I want to hear the whole thing. I’m a blues lover, and the classic, delta blues is the one that I love the most. So when this guys released Howl, they hooked me up forever. Great band.
And that Rcrdlbl.com site is really great, thanks for that.

Looking forward to this release. I wish they were playing a weekend show in Philly, saw then open for Kings Of Leon at the tower and they tore it up, want to see them headline sometime soon.
I actually dig this song. Still havn’t jumped aboard this train however. Gonna see ‘em live in a few weeks though. Hopefully that will hook me.
extremely stoogesish. i like it
@Jeff…I was at that show in Philly, and the one 2 days prior in NYC. Both were fantastic and I’ll be at all 5 of their upcoming SoCal shows next month.
@G…if you’re not hooked we can no longer be friends. American X is their grand opus.
This album is gonna be the balls! Can’t wait
song is kickass…saw these guys opening for STP last year and they’re amazing live!! switching between guitar and bass….fuckin’ badass band.
At first i was underwhelmed by the two tracks from this album, but now i see what they are trying to accomplish: a return to form. A mixture of Howl and Baby 81.
