Miss Jones Takes Us Down To The Paradise Circus

Legendary UK trip-hop group duo/collective Massive Attack will be releasing their fifth proper studio album, entitled Heligoland, February 9th. The long-awaited follow-up to 2003’s 100th Window certainly has the potential to be great.

The band has just released a few short promo clips, offering instrumental teases of a new song entitled Paradise Circus (though the album version features vocals by Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star fame). We’ve gathered up all three, and combined them for your convenience:

Oh, by the way, there’s some nudity in them. They focus on Georgina Spelvin, the star of the classic 1973 porno The Devil In Miss Jones. New footage of Spelvin recalling past sexual experiences is juxtaposed with footage from her most famous film. The result is about as pornographic as a National Geographic special, yet a bit more poignant.

By the way, is it me, or is Michael Fielding (Naboo from The Mighty Boosh) a dead ringer for “The Teacher” from Miss Jones?

Michael Fielding Sex Tape?

Anyway, here’s the tracklist for Heligoland, with featured vocalists:

1. Pray For Rain (Tunde Adebimpe)
2. Babel (Martina Topley-Bird)
3. Splitting The Atom (Grant Marshall, Horace Andy, Robert Del Naja)
4. Girl I Love You (Horace Andy)
5. Psyche (Martina Topley-Bird)
6. Flat Of The Blade (Guy Garvey)
7. Paradise Circus (Hope Sandoval)
8. Rush Minute (Robert Del Naja)
9. Saturday Comes Slow (Damon Albarn)
10. Atlas Air (Robert Del Naja)
