Our buddy Sami at Rock It Out! caught wind of some big news for Radiohead / Thom Yorke fans in Southern California.
Thom’s been spotted out and about in Los Angeles recently, most notably at a semi-surprise DJ set at the Roosevelt Hotel a couple of weeks ago. Apparently he’s been here on business, rehearsing his solo material with a new band. Today he revealed the lineup, quite a solid one, featuring Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The band’s full lineup is is longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, drummer Joey Waronker (of R.E.M., Beck, and Ima Robot), percussionist Maron Refosco, and Flea. The photo above was published by Thom along with the official statement.
The unnamed band will be playing two not-so-long sets at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, on October 4th and 5th- this weekend. Tickets for both shows go on sale at 10 AM tomorrow morning, Pacific time.
We’ll all be out of town, covering the Austin City Limits festival. Go in our honor. Write reviews. Take pictures. Send them in.

Sounds interesting. Will they be doing original material?
joey waronker is a beast. this sounds like a hell of a band
as far as i know they’ll be focusing on stuff from the eraser kevin, but guess there could be some surprises to fluff out the set…
Nigel PLAYING? Well, this should be interesting.
Eraser was pretty meh. Not as excited now. Are we gonna get a review of the new Avett Brothers?
Yes, we’ve got one on the way. And The Eraser was fantastic. Certainly better than In Rainbows.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. I sure hope you’re not implying In Rainbows was bad? I mean The Eraser was great, but In Rainbows was an equally damn good album.
Eraser just bored me. It has about 3 tracks that move me. In Rainbows was maybe 1/2 a star better. Here it comes.
Oh, and looking forward to your thoughts on Avett Brothers.
awww ,, omg .. awesome .. go York… !!
