Yo, Jack White’s Gonna Let You Finish, But…

Earlier today, the new White Stripes film Under Great White Northern Lights premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, at the Elgin Theatre. After the movie, director Emmet Malloy began to take some questions from the audience.
As Malloy began to answer a question about the film’s inspiration, out of nowhere, Jack White stormed the stage, stole the mic from Malloy’s hands, and knocked the meme of the year out of the fucking park: In his best Kanye West, White exclaimed, “I’MMA LET YOU FINISH BUT ORSON WELLES HAD ONE OF THE GREATEST FILMS OF ALL TIME!”

Under Great White Northern Lights is part performance film, and part documentary, following the White Stripes’ tour across Canada in the summer of 2007.

This is so amazing. And he totally does the “Yeah, I just said that” pose EXACTLY like Kanye did after the speech.
While that part was cool, just wait til you all see the movie…you will not be disappointed.

This interruption wasn’t even half as hilarious as the original one, and if it wasn’t Jack White doing it, it would be painfully lame. Maybe when someone pulls this thing off after 3 years or so, applying proper confusion amongs everyone it will be cool, and I mean Pulp Fiction-like cool.

It was funny the first couple hundred times. Now it’s getting old.
Just walked in the door after a nerd-free weekend in Vegas and that shit was way more hilarious than any of the preening, peacocking idiots I dealt with while I was there. Besides, it’s Jack. That’s about as out of character as it gets, hence the comic value. And furthermore, he wasn’t sitting on his webcam trying to spin your roflcopters and hit the high YouTube numbers. This was for a select audience, and your cynical asses just happened to get a voyeur’s view.
