News: Faith No More
Reunion Of The Year
Festival Sudoeste is a large, four-day music festival that began in 1997 and takes place every August near Zambujeira do Mar, a fishing town in southern Portugal. Faith No More, who kicked off their hell-freezing-over reunion tour in June at London’s Download Festival, descended on the festival Saturday in fine fashion, tearing through their most beloved tracks (what else would they do, play new shit?) along with a few appropriate covers, including the best Rock N’ Roll version of Peaches & Herb’s Reunited you’ll ever hear:
The show was pro-shot and aired on the Portuguese cable television channel SIC Radical. Check out an unbeatable performance of Caffeine:
For those just catching on, original guitarist Jim Martin is not part of the FNM reunion. Performing in his place is Jon Hudson, who played with the band after Martin departed earlier in their career. The rest of the lineup is on board, however, including bassman Billy Gould, drummer Mike “Puffy” Bordin, keyboardist Roddy Bottum and of course, singer Mike Patton.
No North American shows are scheduled at the moment, but according to Gould, “U.S. shows are not out of the question” – which means the money’s not quite right yet, but it’ll very likely happen.

Portuguese speaking countries rule. And bands love them.
I love FNM as much as anyone, but I kinda don’t like this reunion. I mean, yes, it’s totally cool to be able to see them play (if they come to the US), but I don’t like the fact that it’s a total nostalgia trip in support of a new greatest hits package. If they make a new record, all is well. But until then, it’s bittersweet for me.
I have a very reliable source that says “Faith No More will tour the US – guaranteed.”
None of these guys are hurting for cash … seriously.
I fully expect a new album. The music world needs it.
Thanks for these!
That shit is tight. Thanks for the clips. Not missing Jim Martin so much now, and apparently neither are FNM…..
They’ve just been announced as part of the Soundwave tour in Australia early next year . . .
Have seen them twice on that European Tour, in UK and in what was described by band as the best show of the tour in Poland, awesome shows, the band really still have it.
