News: Nine Inch Nails
Nine Inch Nails To Go Out With Style
Despite being a huge fan of both Nine Inch Nails and Jane’s Addiction- thoroughly impressed by both band’s live performances on several occasions throughout my life, I skipped the big NIN/JA farewell tour. Why? Because arenas can suck my dick, that’s why.
I’m well aware of how spoiled I am. I know music fans in other countries, fans way more rabid and deserving than I most days, have to settle to be one of a billion bobbing heads in a massive sea of bodies competing for a glimpse at their heroes at giant bulk-buy festivals that most bands can only afford to hit once every year or two. Meanwhile, I can hop in a cab and see the same bands at little club shows every few months, where half the crowd watches through their fucking camera phones, when they aren’t texting or twittering their buddies, trying to figure out what they’re going to do once they get bored.
Lucky for me, frontman Trent Reznor has just announced that Nine Inch Nails is not quite finished yet. They’re going to play one more little handful of shows, in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles starting on August 22nd. The shows will be in small venues, “fun” shows, with special guests, “cool openers and other surprises,” and longer setlists. Reznor’s reasoning:
“Upon reflection, the NIN/JA tour felt like we had to rush through sets due to a limited allotted set length and many shows were in daylight- it just didn’t feel right to end NIN that way.”
The Horrors are set to support the band for some NYC shows, while Mew is on board for at least some of the Chicago and LA shows. Details and ticket info to be announced soon. Decider apparently knows at least some of the venues: Bowery Ballroom in NYC, The Aragon in Chicago, and The Wiltern, Fonda, Palladium, and Echoplex in Los Angeles. The band is also set to play V-Fest in Toronto.
I can only imagine how pissed those overseas fans will be now. Lucky us. We promise to, at the very least, attend these LA shows, and cover them for you guys. Trent has promised to film them, if the band can “get it together.”

I was way too thrilled to yell “fuck yes” in agreement with “arenas can suck my dick”.
no dc? = (
Good cuz I was so not fulfilled by the Verizon Ampitheatre show. I dislike arena shows. Chances of me actually getting tix to any “small” venue LA show are slim to none but I appreciate the effort to go out with care (and fun) for the fans.
I will give my right testicle to go to the echoplex show.
I saw NIN on the downward spiral tour at the forum. They sucked really bad that night.
