Street Sweeper & Trent Reznor Kick Out The Jams

Boots Riley and Tom Morello’s Street Sweeper Social Club is currently opening for the much-hyped Nine Inch Nails & Jane’s Addiction NIN/JA tour. This clip is from last weekend’s Chula Vista, CA stop- as Street Sweeper tied up their set, NIN nucleus Trent Reznor jumped onstage to share the mic on a pretty sick version of the MC5’s Kick Out the Jams.
Boots sounds like dogshit, but he’s 100% given to the moment, and Trent rocks it hard enough for both of ‘em. The double solo is pretty fucking cool as well, so that can’t hurt.
Whatever the case, the Street Sweeper assault boombox in the back is one of the coolest band logos ever:
P.S. For those of you with heart and a little (or a hell of a lot of) extra cash, Trent’s got a worthwhile cause he’d like you to know about.
Update: There’s been some rather colorful discussion in the comments regarding the quality of the performance, so I thought I’d include a few comparative performances. Enjoy.

Jesus! That sucked. RATM have always sucked and Tom Morello’s solo’s are cringe worthy.
Im donating 300 dollars to the fund. I can’t wait for the show.
I have heard some really shitty versions of that song, and trust me, that was not bad at all. Trent fucking rocked it, even though it did look like he was checking the lyrics in a stage monitor….whatever, it rocked. Given the nature of the song, I think Morello’s solo was appropriate. I mean, it’s not exactly a technical thing. Cringe worthy? Hardly. Regardless of the fact that they don’t suck, what does Rage have to do with this anyway? Yeah, they covered the song too, but…
Anybody know who the other guitarist is?
Piece updated with comparative video.
damn, i didn’t know silverchair did it. i’m a big fan of theirs. and liked their cover more than the others.
