At SXSW last week, Lars Ulrich had a talk with the LA Times about the Guitar Hero: Metallica Game, the true role of the record label, and the Ticketmaster / Live Nation merger.

We’re extremely skeptical of his opinion that video games will ever be a practical way to distribute music, but he’s on the right track with the rest. He told interviewer Todd Martens that he plans to have a long talk with Trent Reznor in Europe this Summer, where Metallica will find themselves on tour with Nine Inch Nails.
