Plastic Visions is a raucous new project from cousins Brad Shultz of Cage The Elephant and Kane Stewart. The duo are set to release their debut self-titled EP on May 21st via Brad’s label Death Panda, and to kick off the anticipation Antiquiet’s got the exclusive premiere of their latest video offering, for Kamikaze.
Looking for a change of pace, Kane left the West Coast and headed to Nashville to record music with his cousin Brad – a longtime goal. After spending a month in the studio causally trying out some sounds and writing songs, they recorded a handful of tracks that their friends and music peers were floored about, which brings us to today. Welding punk tendencies with surf-rock edge, the slow-step verses of “Kamikaze” explode in the chorus, where seduction turns to murder. Check it out below, premiering exclusively on Antiquiet:
The band had the following to say about the video: “Kamikaze depicts the femme fatale character. Showing the ups and downs of battling with substance abuse and a fascination with the manipulation of seduction. Kamikaze is coming straight after you through the eyes of Plastic Visions.”
“I had a lot of fun directing the video with my good friend Andrew Pearson. Just a bunch of friends, no budget, and a little bit of alcohol created a great video.” –Kane Stewart
