Local H is hooking you up for Christmas as well as the end of the Mayan Calendar.
The hard rocking Illinois duo not only released one of our favorite albums of 2012, they are giving fans the gift of a free download. You don’t even have to give them an e-mail address in order to get your cover of the Rush classic 2112 Overture/The Temples of Syrinx. Here is what the band had to say about the holiday offering.
“Attention all planets of the solar federation! In honor of the Winter Solstice, the end of the world according to the Mayans and, uh, Christmas, Local H humbly offers you this gift of song. The band has been playing this opus live since last New Year’s Eve and decided to record it properly this fall. With the help of producer Andy Gerber at Million Yen, they’ve gotten it together just in time for 21/12. Rush on over to click the link below to download the surprise track for free. And in the words of Tiny Tim: “A Merry Christmas to us all; and Neil Peart bless us, every one!”
In the event you don’t want to download the free offering, you can stream it down below.
Local H will ring in the new year with two nights of shows at Chicago’s Beat Kitchen. The December 30th show is early (doors at 6p.m.) and all-ages, while the December 31s show is late night (doors at 9p.m.) and 21+. A handful of tickets are still available for each night.
