Last night, a series of musicians gathered at the EMP Museum in Seattle to celebrate the music of Jimi Hendrix via a tribute concert. The most notable of the bunch, other than former Jimi Hendrix Experience bassist Billy Cox, were Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready and former Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan, who went onstage to perform a few Hendrix classics.
Watch below, as McCready and McKagan are first joined by former Mad Season drummer Barrett Martin to perform Voodoo Child, then later by singer Brandi Carlile on Machine Gun – and marvel at McCready’s insane, wall-shattering sustain. [Update]: Further below is a video of Little Wing as well.
