Jack White Solo Album Due April 24: Listen To ‘Love Interruption’

Jack White, Music

Today just got awesome. Love Interruption, the first taste of Jack White’s debut album, Blunderbuss (Third Man Records/Columbia) out April 24, was made available exclusively to Third Man Records’ Vault members to hear for a limited time, as well as on a new site called Jack White III .

The song, which you can hear below, is a duet in the folksy, heartstrung form of some of the White Stripes’ slower jams, with acoustic guitar and keys leading the procession. The other singer on the track is reportedly Nashville artist Ruby Amanfu.

Produced by White and recorded at his own Third Man Studio in Nashville, Blunderbuss has been described by White as “an album I couldn’t have released until now. I’ve put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas.”

Third Man Records will release a 7″ of the single featuring non-LP B-side Machine Gun Silhouette on February 7 but it’s available to pre-order now. The digital single will go on sale tonight at 9 pm PST/12 am EST.

I’m glad Jack’s back doing his own thing again. Is he going to have drums on the album at all?

I don’t think Jack White has had anything out that really blew my load after the wonderful Raconteurs. After seeing the docu he did with Jimmy Page and The Edge, I fear this will be a self indulgant overdose in stripped down, redneck music you’d bugger your sister to but I’ll reserve judgement till after a listen. After such a great career so far, I guess he’s more than due a session of musical masturbation.

The link to his site seems to be just a logo so far but I’ll check this out later. Nice write up comrade Firecloud.
