Watch Mike McCready Join Soundgarden For ‘Superunknown’

Soundgarden, Music

Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready joined his bandmate Matt Cameron & friends for a kickass performance of Superunknown at Soundgarden‘s show at the Forum in Los Angeles Friday night, and we’ve got the video goods for your enjoyment.

Check out PJ’s lead axeman adding six-string color to the title track of Soundgarden’s epic 1994 release:

For the curious, Pearl Jam has been spending quite a bit of time in Los Angeles these days, working on a new album. We’ll keep you posted on updates as they develop.

And in case you hadn’t heard, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl was rockin’ out in the pit at the Forum show, losing his mind with the rest of the thousands of grunge relapsers as well:

Ah, Los Angeles. So much awesome for such a clusterfuck town.

I think the only time I sat down was while waiting for the encore. Long ass set, bad ass show. And Shepard was throwing down hard on bass.

  2. Missed this as I already had plans to see Summer Slaughter. Fingers crossed I can catch Soundgarden in New Orleans over Halloween weekend.

  3. Steve Keyes says:

Not gonna lie. I squealed like a little girl when he came out.

  4. Adrian says:

This was amazing. I was saddened to hear Dave was on that side of the pit, since I was stuck over on Thayil’s side. Still a grungegasmic night.

This is all kinds of awesome! I mean how can you not feel a little weird moshing next to Dave Grohl! ” Sorry about my elbow Dave, I love your new album!”

  6. Pete says:

OK, Dave Grohl might want to get a restraining order against this cell phone Speilberg. I can understand getting a clip of the guy real quick to proove to your dumbass friends that you Actually saw DG at the show, but a five minute clip, jeez. Just let the dude enjoy the concert. He was singing like a fifteen year old girl for crying out loud.
