Say Bye To Trent For Me

Nine Inch Nails are playing one of their last shows ever at the Palladium in Hollywood tonight. Johnny and I have a pair of tickets, but I am unable to attend. So I’ve decided to give my ticket to one of you for free.

Ternt Reznar

Here’s the catch:

Anyone can claim the ticket, but not for themselves. You have to give it to one of your friends.

In order to ensure that someone really awesome and deserving gets the ticket, someone out there appreciative of their contribution to the world has to step forward on their behalf.

All you’ve gotta do is send us an email (use the form!) and tell us briefly (or not briefly) who deserves the ticket and why. The show is tonight, so that means they’ll have to be able to be in Hollywood tonight to meet Johnny Firecloud for a wristband.

I’ll review each email and decide who gets the ticket by 5 PM. So you’ve only got a few hours. Typos will be forgiven.

Now this is a hellofa nice gesture, rather than let valuable tix go to waste, good for you! I attended the Saturday Aragon show in Chicago myself, and walked out a beaten, sweaty man (with a black eye!). NIN was outstanding, and as for show rankings go, this was my #2 of all time. Good luck to all who enter! This show will be unforgettable.

I can tell you someone who deserves the ticket: Tanner Godazri! He was unable to get ANY tickets to the LA NiN shows. When they released some last night, he didn’t have his credit card on him and his friend who did refused to buy the tickets because it was a school night! I kid you not! Then, more tickets became available and he held them in the cart too long, and still missed out! He also got screwed the first time around because there were supposed to be Ticketmaster sales of the shows and since he was waiting on those, he got screwed because they canceled those! He is a very unlucky, unhappy NiN fan right now.

I’ve never met him in person. He lives in Huntington Beach, I live in Florida. He is a set-liat tweeter and all around good guy who just started his senior year of high school. Please help this guy out! He has gone to previous shows and tweeted the set list. Plus he has his own ride!

You can reach him @ 714.496.9554. If not, you can reach me @ hecatedracul@subliminal2000.net and I will get a hold of him!

Help this kid out, please! He deserves it plenty!

This idea is way to cool! If I had a hat, I’d take it off.

there’s a guy named john who wrote me. he’s moving home to hawaii, and so tonight will be one of the last times he gets to hang out with his best friend micah, but micah couldn’t get a ticket. so he has mine now. there were a couple good stories, but that one resonated with me for a number of reasons.
for me, finding a deserving hand for the ticket was secondary to giving someone the opportunity to do a good deed for someone else. i just see everyone knocking over their grandmas for tickets to these shows, and it felt like the right thing to do.
like when you’re up front against the rails watching a band like nine inch nails, on top of the world, and you stop and take a step back and let a girl (who you’re not trying to fuck) or younger dude get in front of you just so they can get a better view and not get so crushed. if you’ve done that, and shown love when everyone around you was being ruthless, selfish and greedy, you deserve anything and everything we have to give you.
the guy who does that sleeps easier that night than the person next to them who kicked and punched their way to the front to lick up trent’s arm sweat. as awesome as music is, there’s more to life, and i saw this as an opportunity to remind at least one person of it.
(draven, i got nothing against you, but you texting me asking for the ticket for yourself missed the whole point of the experiment.)

  • [...] killing scalping the ticket, Antiquiet’s resident rock saint set up a pay-it-forward kind of contest which Micah, a huge NIN fan, won. It was his quick thinking that got us in the door after a bad [...]
