Awhile back, we asked: What is Antiquiet? Over the course of the month to follow (our busiest to date) we kept that unanswered question in the backs of our minds, as we watched what people responded to and where our efforts were most valuable in these overcrowded intarwebs.
What you see here today is the answer we came to. First and foremost, we’re music junkies. And so music shall be our primary focus. There are a million music news sites out there, so we won’t be bothering with much news aside from the big headlines that are worth commentary. What there isn’t enough of, in our opinion, are sites with balls. We’re going to focus on brutally honest reviews and politically incorrect, challenging interviews with people that actually have something to say.
We’ll also continue to write plenty about politics, society, and marketing. These are topics that regularly inspire us to research and write, and Antiquiet will continue to be our outlet. To make a user-friendly analogy, we aim to be a sort of younger, more vigorous Rollingstone, crossed with not so tree-hugging Adbusters.
We hope you like the new design. It’s still powered by the powerful Wordpress engine, and that should make the rapid development of new features relatively easy. We welcome any and all comments below.
Enjoy!

Testing the comments action.
Also… the big Google ad right under the nav is the first thing anyone sees. Bad.
And to be a music “site with balls”, you better give us some music. Not the newest single from the newest rock saviors, but ALBUMS in 320 kbps MP3, because music junkies like albums.

oh… and if you are scared to give us albums, give us a forum to give each other albums.

there are a million sites that distribute albums. we’re not afraid to do it, we just consider our time better spent elsewhere.
but if we do add a forum (which i would love to do, once the audience & interest is there), you guys will be free to do whatever the fuck you want.
as for the ad at the top… whatever. this time around, the bills are going to get paid. that ad size / position generally yields good results. and it’s a lot nicer than the 728×90 + 300×250 combination that would bring in more…
